Clinical Work

Dr. Nicole Racine is a Registered Psychologist with the College of Alberta Psychologists and the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She has experience working with children, adolescents, and their families in addressing a variety of mental health difficulties.

She received her MA and PhD in Clinical Developmental Psychology from York University in Toronto, Canada. She has trained and worked in several pediatric teaching hospitals in Canada including the Hospital for Sick Children, The Centre for Addiction and Mental Health, and the Alberta Children’s Hospital. Dr. Racine currently practices virtually at the Family Psychology Place, in Calgary Alberta.

Dr. Racine is committed to using evidence-based approaches that have research evidence. Her primary modality of treatment is cognitive-behavioural (CBT), although she incorporates attachment-based and relationship-focused interventions in her work

Dr. Racine’s areas of practice include assessment and treatment of preschool and school-aged children, as well as adolescents with: anxiety, depression, health-related problems, parent-child relationship difficulties, behavioural difficulties, anger management, attention problem (e.g., ADHD), and learning disabilities.

With the outbreak of COVID-19, Dr. Racine and her colleagues developed a brief, 3-session telemental health protocol, iCOPE with COVID-19, to address anxiety and difficult emotions in children and adolescents. To access this treatment manual, please email PsyClinic@ucalgary.ca.
